The College of Social and Human Sciences of the NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCSH) offers a wide range of multidisciplinary courses to its students as part of its summer school program. One of them focuses on the “career management” field, allowing students to work on their career development plans according to their goals as well as the job market’s needs.

In 2018 and 2019, I had the chance to lecture the module “Storytelling tools for an effective communication”. This topic, apart from generating great enthusiasm in the academic community, matches recruiters’ increasing demand for candidates with strong communication skills. Therefore, NOVA FCSH’s students left the training session with an accurate idea of how storytelling can help them promote their skills and competencies in recruitment and selection processes.
